This is the second time I have been to John's Automotive and as expected they were honest and quick to fix my car. I knew I had a few things wrong, which were previously diagnosed, so I took it to John's to make sure it was done right. They did their diagnosis and sure enough everything I already knew was what they said needed to be fixed. They even advised that my struts could be replaced but recommended I wait since they were not too bad. They could have easily said nothing and I would have ended up paying $1000 for 4 struts.. That is honesty!!!! My car was ready when they said it would be and it runs great.... Would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat

I came home a few weeks ago sometime after midnight on a Sunday and when I got out of my car my tire was going flat. I could hear the air rapidly leaving it. I honestly picked John's because it was open the earliest and I was hoping to get to work by 8:00 with a quick patch job. Also, they were blocks away from my apartment which is a huge plus when you have a flat. I got in there right at 7:00 AM and they said they were already backed up but would do what they could. By 7:30 they had checked all of my tires. My flat actually was unable to be patched and they also found a huge nail in another. They didn't have my tires in stock but would able to get them and put them on in half a day. I told them to do what they had to do and was just preparing to miss almost a full day's work AND my midterm test that evening. HERE'S THE IMPORTANT PART, PEOPLE!!!! They told me to hold on a second, called Discount Tires down the block, set up an appointment for me to get in right at 8:00, told me to look for a man named John and he will take care of me, AND didn't charge me one cent!!!! They actually saw that I was in a time crunch that they couldn't meet the needs of and REFERRED ME TO ANOTHER BUSINESS WHO COULD PROVIDE WHAT I NEEDED!!! I couldn't believe it! They really care about their customers. They could have easily just let me miss my important day but instead of taking my money and time they sent my business elsewhere because it was in MY best interest. You want great service? GO HERE!!! I will always be coming back to John's for any other car needs. They really made an impression with their willingness to work me into their busy morning as well as their amazing customer service and the way they care about their customers more than about screwing them just to make an extra couple hundred dollars.

Once again, the fine people of J.A.C. have taken care of us. We have relied on their expertise many times for our vehicles, and they have proven to be extremely knowledgeable and fair. I would not only recommend, but insist that you immediately switch your mechanic(s).

super nice guys. i only needed a fuse, and asked for 3 of them, just for future use with my issue. he bought them to me, guys made a couple of jokes and didn't even charge me. granted it's not a huge cost to them, but no question, i would go back there. late on a hot friday afternoon, when most people are probably wanting to go home--they were super cool, nice, friendly and fast i'd 100% recommend!

The guys here are very friendly. They are slightly more expensive than large chain stores, but definitely worth the extra $$. I dropped my car off, they drove me home, and the next day I was able to pick my car up after hours. No issues at all and it only took about 15 minutes of my time. The same day a friend got similar work done at Pep Boys. She was stuck there for 3 1/2 hours with a 4 year old because they kept giving her the run around.

Got the 40 point inspection and oil change mailer a couple days ago and I'm driving across the country tomorrow so I thought I'd take advantage of the deal. Bryan and Chris are both really nice guys and are knowledgeable about the services. Bryan set me up, explained everything prior to the work, and I just hung out while the work was completed. They even offered multiple times to give me a soda, water, or snacks while I was waiting. In my experience, you don't get that kind of customer service at an automotive care store. I highly recommend this location.

Great place to get your car fixed near SDSU. I've taken my car there several times and they always do a good job. Also if you're an AAA member you get a discount.

I was very impressed with this business. I had read some comments and found a coupon online and decided to give them a try. I just needed a smog check and they got it done right away for me. I have an older model Toyota and have always had it serviced by Toyota San Diego, but I've been wanting to find an alternate to the dealer's service department. (Not to take anything away from TSD, but why pay dealer rates if I don't have to, right?) I will be utilizing John's Automotive from here on out. First class treatment and friendly staff. They've won me over as a new customer.

Be aware that they don't honor the Yelp deal AND a Kaiser or AAA discount. The Kaiser and AAA club member discounts are 10% off up to $50. Other than that, they did what they said they would do and did it on schedule.

So this is why they get 5 stars from me: -First and foremost, they do their job well - I have taken my cars in the past to Steve Auto Repair in PB, and Steve could isolate the problem with my brakes although they sounded horrible. Turns out it was in my rotors. Problem solved! -They are affordable and offer great deals - including the $150 for $100 yelp deal, a discount for being a Kaiser member, and a AAA discount. Plus the price for an oil change and scheduled maintenance was very reasonable. -They are great guys. Well, I only talked to Bryan and John but they are all-stars.
