Great place! The people working here are so kind! Previously at my dealership they were always pushing and pressuring me to complete all the services.. which I hated. Here, I was given all the information I needed to make an informed decision about my car and did not feel pressured to do the service now (which I will happily do here) later on in the year because of this customer service. As a woman going to an automotive spot I am personally intimidated by going to these kind of appointments. So it was nice to have someone explain everything and let me make a decision on what to do next with my car instead of being heckled @ volkswagen dealership… Thanks! Will be back here!

Rude customer service. Rick had no patience for discussion about transportation. Needed drop off 7 miles away and accused of playing games when I inquired whether they are flexible about their 6 mile drop off. Just took Uber instead. On top of that, inspection was much longer (4.5hrs) than eta given (1.5hrs) even with appointment

Truck was making loud metal to metal noise. They did their inspection and found a few bolts loose. John's auto was the 3rd shop to look at this issue. Only shop to notice these loose bolts. Tightened bolts and 95% of the noise is gone. Very courteous and did not try to sell something not needed. My new shop.

Work was done timely and they went out of their way to fix a door power bezel switch window cover for which not all the parts were available. I really appreciate the work they did to make it usable again.

Great place! It’s my first time getting my car checked out in San Diego so I found this place on Google and I’m so glad I came. They gave me a great price on the oil change, and even inspected my breaks for free when I asked. Their customer service is amazing and they even like the steering wheel and seat in plastic so when they drive around, their work clothes and gloves don’t get the car dirty. I think his name was Rick, or Ricky, but he remembered my name when I walked in to pick up my car. Small details like that is what makes business great! Also, the person who checked up on my car, Dave, did a great job! He gave me great insight on what was wrong with my car, but informed me that it wasn’t worth fixing since the car was old and had no safety issues. This shows they aren’t trying to squeeze every penny from you. I let him know I had to drive back to the Bay Area over the summer and he said to pull in before I take that drive so that he could make sure everything is okay…free of cost. Amazing people here!

I had a good idea that the head gasket was blown in my 2013 Lexus CT200. After a good discussion on the history, the CS rep recommended a complete engine diagnostic for about $250. This was a fair price to evaluate the condition of both the upper and lower engine. The tech called a day later and stopped the full diagnostic after the initial review and confirmed that a full rebuild would be necessary. The cost was $67.89. After picking up the CT200 and having further discussions, it was clear that John's Automotive Care knows engines and honestly deals with their clients. I was impressed.
