JOHNS AUTOMOTIVE Just wanted to let someone know that I brought my 1995 toyota 4runner in to your shop about 3 weeks ago for diagnostics, due to high and low idle and no power, they had it for 1 ½ days and charged me 125.00 and said they really could not find anything wrong with it. So I picked it up and made it 2 miles up to waring rode, it quit running, I called and he said they would be there another 20 minutes, but by the time the tow truck got there it had been an hour. The tow truck operator opened the hood and said the distributor cap was very loose and was missing screws, . So I had it towed down there on that Monday and you called me and said they don’t know how the cap came loose since they never touched it, which I still do not know how you do a 1 day diagnostics on rough idle and you never took off cap to check inside. Since they said it needed to come back for cap rotor and wires. every other shop I called said they would have checked cap and rotor for rough idle, anyway whatever, you called me and said its back together with new cap and rotor which they said they should not be paying for, but still got a crappy running truck back. So I took it to another shop, 2 hours later they called me and said my truck is all fixed, bad speedometer cable, it was sending incorrect signals to transmission sensor for shifting, they said for my symptoms on that 4runner it is a normal thing that happens to them. 111 dollar cable and 75 dollars labor truck runs like brand new. I feel your mechanic let you down, bad diagnoses. I would have spent another 250 dollars with you for the complete tune up and car still would not have been fixed. I don’t understand, I did get on the internet and punch in my car rough idle and no power, and the first thing that came up was speed sensors on speedometer cable. Anyway as you can figure out I wont be coming back to your shop, but I thought I should atleast let the owner know how I feel. Maybe this is why your customer survey page does not work. I will be leaving my experience with the shop on facebook though. Have a great day.
