Fantastic Service! Everyone was SO FRIENDLY, and they were up front and honest about everything that they would do for my Jeep. As a cherry on top, they have a free shuttle that will take you somewhere after you drop your car off. I haven't seen any shops with that kind of service in SD. Highly Recommended!

Stopped by for a simple oil change. Bryan was excellent - very friendly and informative. Wait time was pretty good, about an hour. Great service, I'll be back!

Have been using John's Auto care for a number of years and really trust them for accurate service and no "upsell". This time my issue was resolved in 2 visits (not great, but understandable). I needed rides back to work (very timely) but getting back there was a mis-communication between the front desk and driver. Hope they get a better system worked out- that will earn them 5 stars! Had to go back twice - once for the glove box stops not being re-set (the glove box dumped contents when I opened it). The one a couple days later when I had an oil leak (a new leak). Apparently the gasket had a defect. They were very nice in replacing it the same day for free. I still trust their judgement and repairs- sorry for the part defect and my inconvenience. Read more

Brought my mother in laws car in for service (it hadn’t been in for 3 years, but only accumulated 5000ish miles). Byron and his guys checked it out and all it needed was tires, an oil change and an air filter. So glad they didn’t try to sell me a bunch of unnecessary maintenance items. Money is tight and it’s great to have a solid auto service place like Johns! I’ve been coming here for about 15 years!

First of all, I don't normally write yelp reviews- this one is well deserved and long overdue! If I could give 10 STARS, I would. The team at John's is welcoming, friendly, caring, and extremely professional. They always go above and beyond to make sure I'm happy and my car is running and reliable. About a year ago, I randomly stumbled upon these guys because I needed a new battery for my car. Well, not only did I need a new battery for my 14-year-old car, it also needed some other pretty important work to be done. Skeptical that they were like most auto shops out there looking for anything they could fix and to charge me out the wazoo for it, I sought counsel from my dad. Dad was blown away by the amazing prices and assured me the work they proposed for my car was indeed necessary and important (not frivolous). I approved the work and instead of making me sit in the waiting room the whole day they offered for their shuttle to take me wherever I wanted (close-by) and gave me advice on where to go. I ended up going on 2 different hikes and had Mexican food for lunch. Why is this important? Well, I had just stepped off the plane after moving my entire life from Hawaii to San Diego. I knew no one and my temporary home was 30 miles away. It was overwhelming and the guys at John's made what could have been the worst first day in San Diego into an incredible one I will never forget. Usually auto shops give me bad, salesy vibes. This shop is different on every level and because my car is old and has had problems over the past year the guys at the shop have become some of my best friends in San Diego. I trust them 150% to give me solid advice and care. They take the time to explain the work to me; I enjoy getting a full understanding of how things work so that I can be well informed of where I am putting my money. They make cars easy and simple to understand. It is also nice because I know the work they are saying they are going to do they are actually doing...they show me! A little over a year later, I have stayed true to John's Automotive Care. I live in North County and the connection that I made with them on that first visit and everyone after solidified that I found the BEST CAR SHOP IN SAN DIEGO. Although the drive getting to them is not my favorite thing to do, I will gladly do it because I know they care and are GREAT MECHANICS. I had one issue where they recommended for me not to drive my car down to them because it was unsafe. They even searched shops nearby my house to help me know where I could take it to within their network so that the work would be under their warranty. That shop ended up being like the shops I have come to expect...trying to find every little thing they can do on my car so they can take my money! I will never take my car anywhere else and most recently I even paid for a tow truck (and waited 3+ hours for it to arrive) to take my car down to their shop. That's some hardcore loyalty. These guys are amazing. John, I hope you realize what a great team you have. From mechanics who have stayed late to make sure my car would be finished by the end of the day so I could drive to my new home in my own car, to your manager, Brian, who constantly exceeds my expectations especially most recently when my head gasket blew and I was prepared to cut my losses (but didn't have to!), to your front of office guys- they are like family to me and are always a pleasure to see and work with, to your back of office lady who has been super helpful when I couldn't connect to wifi. She went above and beyond to make it work for me. Not sure how you find all these great people! Cherish them, treat them well, and keep up the excellent service standards.
