My son scheduled an appointment to diagnose a check engine light. He dropped his car off as scheduled, Monday at 8am. He called a few times during throughout the day asking for updates and was told every time “we’re working on it”. Tuesday came and he called several times and again was told the same thing over and over. I finally called on Tuesday at 3pm and got the same response “we’re figuring it out”. I asked for the manager. We discussed the situation and I learned how challenging these things can be to figure out and how their business operates based on situational needs. He finally came clean at the end of our discussion by informing me my son’s car wasn’t in a stall being worked on and would not be looked at until maybe the next day. I appreciated his honesty but still very disappointed in the whole experience, especially from a company that is rated very well. An appointment means something, it sets an expectation that you’re going to get service within a reasonable timeframe. Two days with no service and fabricated excuses is unacceptable.

Not good news, being told the part you need to fix a bad fuel leak isn't available. My 1996 Buick Park Avenue is my pride and joy so in despair at the news of no fix from another garage, I looked elsewhere. The guys at Johns Automotive El Cajon, came to the rescue. Leave for a few days I was told and within 24 hrs, Justin gave me some positive news that repair was possible. Today I have the Buick in my driveway and relieved that its not going to salvage. During those few days I was given updates for this repair, including an inspection report by email. These messages saved me time by not having to call each day to find out if the vehicle repair was possible. I was of course thinking the worst as far as cost was concerned, bearing in mind rising part and labor costs. The final amount was within my budget and reasonable. I would highly recommend the team at Johns Automotive Care El Cajon branch and this will be my future repair facility in future for my Buick and Ford Ranger truck. Again a big thanks and my appreciation for getting my Buick back on the road.

This place preys on people that don't know anything about cars. My sister recently went in for simple maintenance and was told she needed a new air filter among other items. Simple stuff. Quoted $152 for just the air filter and install. INSANE!! Simple trip to auto zone for a $20 filter and 3 minutes of work. Done. If you don't mind being ripped off by all means come here.
