Bryan was very nice and honest to me. I called about a thing hanging from underneath my car that would drag on the ground while driving. There was also water leaking from my car. When I came in he took a look at it and fixed it for free! He also said the leaking was was due to AC. Thank you Bryan! You made my day! I will be coming back here. I contacted AAA to see if they could recommend a “brake repair” shop near my home. The 1st shop did not provide Brake service. The 2nd shop, John’s Automotive, did provide Brake repair service. I brought my car in August 29th, 2019, and was driving it home around 4:20 pm. Thanks to Justin, Bryan, Jeff and the repair technician(s), I am very happy with the service provided. I would recommend John’s Automotive to others.

Short Version: car broke down while out of town (in San Diego). Needed it repaired next day (Saturday). Bill @ John’s Automotive was sure they could deliver as long as not major failure, cited Fuel Pump as an example – which it exactly turned out to be. Unfortunately, vehicle wasn’t fixed until Monday; I had to make another trip (fly) to San Diego to pickup it up, and was charged a premium price for the repair. To summarize, they will get the work done – however… tread carefully on any promises made particularly regarding time commitments, ignore sympathetic comments, and finally, expect to pay a premium. Long Version: Car broke down in route to San Diego from out of town. Called John’s Automotive on a Friday within an hour of closing to discuss symptoms, likely repairs and turn around time. This was important because I needed to be back home on Monday. Bill was super understanding, said he has two certificated mechanics along with full staff on the next day (Saturday). Said they would start work immediately in the morning and email the diagnosis and estimate within an hour. Bill said if it's a nothing major they can definitely repair it the same day as they have extensive parts access, being a Napa Service Center. He said it’s most likely the fuel pump, a common issue, and described what they would do to resolve that to complete within the day. Basically, Bill said all the things I needed to hear. Come Saturday morning didn't hear from anyone (no email, no phone call) until I called them at 10:30 to find out status. Another employee answered, said Bill was busy with another customer and proceeded to give me the status of the car which was, the fuel pump need to be replaced for a total of $950... and they can't finish it until Monday, possibly Tuesday. Hearing all this, I simply asked that Bill call me back. While waiting for the return call, I checked a few sources (including Napa Online) for parts and labor costs so had an idea of what the going charges should be and this was about 30% higher. When Bill returned call ~45 mins later, I asked about the costs and was told his cost for the Napa part was $400, not the $265 quoted by Napa Online, and he felt $50 markup for $450 total was "fair". His explanation for labor was the replacement required 2 additional hrs to wire in the replacement electrical harness (how many wires are there?). When I asked Bill about completing the work today (Saturday), he paused and said it’s not likely but would still try to, because one of the 2 certified mechanism call in that morning with a family death. While was certainly sad to hear about the employee's situation, it felt too coincidental that the only reasonably acceptable event to derail the promise Bill made just happened. Bill repeated he understood my situation and would see what they can do. Being so late on Saturday, there was really no option left other than to go forward and trust they can complete it by EOD . Checked back 2 hrs later and Bill said there's absolutely no way it's done today. This completely screwed up the weekend plans and required another means to get home on Sunday and another trip to San Diego to retrieve the repaired vehicle. One positive thing Bill did was provide a 2 day rental car to get home for Monday. But even that was a bit of a mess and required 2 hrs of coordination to happen, cost my 2 days of insurance (more than the car rental). On a positive note, the vehicle was repaired and ready to return home a week later when I picked it up. Also the service comes with a warranty. But that's a pretty low standard to deliver to. In short, I trusted Bill to deliver what he stated during that initial call, and John's Automotive failed! That cost me significant $ and time!

The service at Johns is great. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. They even gave me a ride home when I didnt have one. I would definitely recommend this place :)
